Model-Based Mechanism Analysis of “7.20” Flash Flood Disaster in Wangzongdian River Basin

With digital information technology based on limited data, disaster simulation review is an important guideline for analyzing mechanisms, planning post-disaster reconstruction, and improving defense capability. Taking the “7.20” flash flood in Wangzongdian river basin as a research area, hydrological-hydrodynamic model was established using measured data. The results showed that extreme rainstorm caused flooding mountainous areas collapse of subgrade water damming, high-level quickly flowed into Village short distance, which main cause this serious disaster. Considering due to congestion upstream bridge, simulated flow reached 782 m3/s, basically consistent with survey results, relative error only +8%. modeling strategy proposed paper applicable sudden heavy rainstorms floods can provide technical guidance future analysis other areas.
